(now that i got up close and personal with one)
Not THIS one but you get the idea
Tailgate feels flimsy.
$43k for a TRADESMAN with steelies. lul
Tow mirrors (not pictured above) are EXACTLY the same as the previous gen
Lots of back seat room. You could put an air mattress on the floor in the rear with the rear seat bottom folded up
Bespoke new key is neat.
Shark fin antenna is neatly centered in the rear above the CHMSL. Take THAT, GM with your offset mounted fins... and previous RAMs (like mine) with old school masts.
New gauges are BEAUTIFUL. You can adjust the center screen to display the same data in top right, top left, and center for lulz. I choose outside temp in Celsius.
Nose angles forward, not 100% flat as I imagined.
Lots of storage with the front bench. With the center seat folded down (the headrest nearly touches the dash) there is storage in there (less than in my truck though), and with it folded up there is an accessible cubby under the seat bottom.
Edit: Big enough to hold TWO of those XDs in the post below this.

Saw and sat in a well equipped one the other day at the new CDJR dealership down the street.
It was ok.
I’ll take it over a Silverado.
Doesn’t hold a candle to the F150, though.

Amazing, innit? Most of the options were towing related, but still it was a $38k base MSRP.
The e-lock rear diff though... I imagine someone is out making 11s in it right now.

Go check out a Laramie and up. Completely different truck from the lower trims and sold me on this new generation including styling.

We... we only have the Tradesman. And it’s already being dealer TRADED! Ha, puns.

Only seen two on the road so far. They look nice

I take it there was a HEMI under the hood at that price?

That reminds me... parts of the engine (HEMI) were already rusted.

I’m waiting for the redesign on the HDs to replace mine. They really nailed it with the design on these.
Is there room for a manual shifter on the floor?

I honestly think our 2018's tailgate feels flimsy compared to our Silverado’s.

Should be. There was space for one, provided the middle seat can be removed. Assuming they’ll use the same cab for the 2500+ they’d have to rework the lower dash and that seat placement to make room for one.

Oh, well then they just made it worse. Maybe it was just this truck, but there seemed to be zero dampening when opening it, and you had to SLAM it to get it to latch. My ‘17 I can close it gently, then give it a little shove to click it closed.
Oh, and the ‘handle’ is now just a rubber covered electric pressure switch to unlatch it.

I’m sure that will never fail...
